D+82 - D+85 Granada, Alhambra, Sevilla and...
2007. 6. 9. 17:15 in 2007세계일주/now, travelling
It became boring to resting all days.
5 o'clock in the afternoon.
It reminds me Mt. kilimanjaro.
Those are for screening for strong sunshine.
Many people already. 20-30 people ahead of me. Can I get the ticket?
I was in the Alhambra at 9 o'clock. It was easy. haha
But I don't think it's worth of attracting so many tourists.
I took bus to Sevilla at 15:30.
Tomorrow would be holiday. What?
Move to another pub, drink wine and eat today's special dishes.
watching cathedral together
Visiting Alcazar together
Eating lunch together
So I have been to Andalucia for 4days.
It's like rehersal for middle east.
Have you ever heard about Alhambra?
It's so famous. Why? I didn't know the reason before visiting
After visiting, I don't know either.
The only thing I can tell that I couldn't get the ticket through internet, nor at bank ticket office.
(They sell tickets at bank)
Yes, but there may be some way to get in. Hole in the wall, bribe to the guide.
I'm veteran backpackers, now. Ain't I?
5hours in the bus. It was more comfortable than Africa. But it was more boring.
Granada is famous for Alhambra. There are so many tourists. And it is so hot.
5 o'clock in the afternoon.
Whenever arriving at new city, I walk around the city.
Not bus, nor horse, just on foot.
That is the best way to change new city to my own city.
But sometimes it's hard job, especially in hot weather, walking uphill.
After soaking with sweat, I found Alhambra and Siera Nevada mountain covered with snow.
It reminds me Mt. kilimanjaro.
Night is coming. Street light is switching on.
Those are for screening for strong sunshine.
In Granada, I feel everyday is like holiday.
I wake up early next morning to queue in front of ticket office.
It's reasonable way to get tickets at that day.
Ticket office open at 8 o'clock. I arrived at a quarter past seven.
Many people already. 20-30 people ahead of me. Can I get the ticket?
I was in the Alhambra at 9 o'clock. It was easy. haha
Tiles and carvings in the wall are beautiful and very delicate.
Views from palace is beautiful too.
But I don't think it's worth of attracting so many tourists.
I took bus to Sevilla at 15:30.
Sevilla may less famous than Alhambra.
But people who have been to both city(my brother, my sister-in-law) prefer Sevilla to Granada.
Me? Of course, definitely, absolutely.
I was tired when arriving Sevilla.
But hostel dormitory room was small. The guy at reception couldn't speak english at all.
I didn't get any information from him.
Again, walking around the city. First, tourist information center.
It was closed at that time. But I could see the information on the window.
Tomorrow would be holiday. What?
Holiday is bad for traveller. Shops close early. Some museum don't open.
Did you know that? / No, it's bad, bad thing.
What can we do in holiday? / Nothing to do, nothing.
Where do you stay? / Picasso hostel, dormitory room.
Is it good? / No, 20euros for domitory bed, room is too small, bathroom is dirty...................
So I met him at there.
We began to walk together.
How could those things happen?
If you are travelling for 83days alone, if you speak only english in spanish world,
if you have nothing to do at evening time, things happen spontaneously.
Where are you from? / Korea, and you?
America. Did you arrive today? / Yes, I'm from Granada.
Oh me too. you see Alhambra? / Yes, wake up early, queue at the ticket office
Me too. You may be ahead of me. / Oh, really?
................................................................................................................
Is this your holiday? / Yes, long holiday, for one year, and you?
Just two weeks. Oh, how can you do? / I quit my job.
What did you do? / I'm doctor.
You doctor? Which speciallity? really? / Yes, internal medicine.
(What's wrong? Does he hate doctor?)
I'm doctor too.
He said.
His name is Aaron. Next week he will begin his residency for internal medicine.
He didn't want to talk about that. I understand him well.
Five years ago, before beginning intern at hospital, I travelled Europe for 25days.
I didn't want to think about coming hard time either, at that time.
He wants to be infection specialist.
He worked as conventional biologist(about environment problem, maybe) in Peru.
At then he decided to be a doctor to help people.
He reserched about HIV in Thai during last year.
He speaks spanish well. He is very humorous.
And he graduated at Johns hopkins medical school, johns hopkins, johns hopkins, Wow!!!
I followed him "jol-jol" for 2days.
We went to pub to eat tapas(small side dishes. It's cheap and you can taste many things),to drink beer.
Move to another pub, drink wine and eat today's special dishes.
It's spanish culture, he said. move on move on till dawn.
It's like in Korea. But we go to karaoke too.
Next day, we met again.
watching cathedral together
Visiting Alcazar together
Eating lunch together
Going to see Flamengo together at night.
He was so smart, thoughtful, and funny guy.
Without him, my travelling might be less interesting.
I'm much thankful for him.
And we met at bus station again last day.
It was not planned.
We said Adios yesterday night.
We sat side by side at bus for 6hrs, napping, sometimes talking, boring to each other. haha
It' s time to say goodbye, again.
Take care of you. World is dangerous. / You too, hospital is dangerous too.
Oh don't tell me about that. / Oh sorry, but you will be a good doctor.
I hope so. / It's not hope so. You will be.
Yes, he will be a good doctor. I believe that.
Sevilla is beautiful city. Isn't it?
